Profiles Healthy Lifestyles Pound for Pound Challenge

As of 1/15/10 the individuals served and staff at Profiles and Profiles Productions have pledged to lose 255 pounds by June 2010.  Our weight loss efforts will also help bring up to 255 pounds of food to our local food bank!  What a win-win scenario.  Check back each month to see how we’re doing.

Joe Meazle passes ASWB Social Work Exam

Joe Meazle, a Case Manager at Independent Living Services, recently passed the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Social Work Examination.

The ASWB examination is one of the most important assurances that a social worker possesses the competence to practice responsibly.

Jackie Fliss  said, “Congratulations to Joe on his accomplishment. As a licensed social woker, Joe and Independent Living Services will benefit from new opportunities to expand services to our consumers.”

Joe earned his undergraduate degree from Saint Louis University and his graduate degree from the University of Kansas.

Fliss selected as a Nonprofit Executive of the Year finalist for the 2009 Arkansas Business of the Year Awards

Jackie Fliss, Executive Director of Independent Living Services, has been selected as a Nonprofit Executive of the Year finalist for the 2009 Arkansas Business of the Year Awards. The awards show will be held February 23 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.

Since 1988, the Arkansas Business Awards has honored small businesses, nonprofits and executives with the Arkansas Business of the Year Awards. The awards show recognizes Arkansas businesses with 1-25 employees, businesses with 26-75 employees, businesses with 76-300 employees and nonprofit organizations.  Outstanding business executives and nonprofit executives are also recognized.
