Ronald Jenkees, an American composer and YouTube sensation, has agreed to allow the Development Office to use his music for our upcoming 40th anniversary commercial.
Jenkees has been featured in Paste Magazine, columns by Bill Simmons on ESPN.com, the G4 television show Attack of the Show! and on the Fox Business Network. In 2009, Jenkees was featured on the STS9 album, Peaceblaster: The New Orleans Make it Right Remixes.
According to his website, “I’m not a savant or anything remotely related. Lots of people make assumptions, but I’m normal and I also don’t take myself (or music for that matter) too seriously. Some also assume I went to school for music but I actually went for a tech-related degree (networking, security). Musically speaking, I am completely self-taught but it was a slow process – I don’t think I was “born to play” or anything but stuck with it.
Although we’re unsure about which song we’ll use, it’s likely that we’ll go with Synth One, Disorganized Fun, or Stay Crunchy. Send your suggestions to bobby@indliving.org.
The 30 second commercial, produced by Bobby M Kelly III and edited by Kinetic Media Solutions, is set to air in the central Arkansas market sometime in June.
In the meantime, be sure to check out Ronald’s website and YouTube channel.
